The National Monuments Service's description

A peatland survey carried out in 2006 by Archaeological Development Services recorded a togher measuring in ‘width 1.55-1.83m, depth 0.22--0.26m, length 30m and was dated to 390-40Bc’ (Whitaker 2006, 85). Described by Whitaker (2006, 85-6) as ‘this togher was visible at two sightings at the northern end of Littleton Bog close to the dryland on the eastern side of the bog. It was orientated east-west and was composed of longitudinally laid brushwood and roundwood elements supported by transverse brushwoods. This togher runs parallel to and 0.78m south of LTNOO29a b. The two sites were located at the same level in the bog and may therefore be broadly contemporary. TI-LTNO28a, 223682, 159265, Width 1.55m, Depth 0.22m. This sighting was located at the western end of the togher and was exposed in the drain face, 0.49m below the field surface. It was composed of longitudinally laid roundwoods and brushwoods supported by transversely laid brushwood. The wood was well preserved but had been damaged by machinery at the drain face. The elements measured 0.01m to 0.08m in diameter’.
