The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a NE-facing slope of rising ground in slightly undulating countryside. Only the S half of the site survives. Originally the site consisted of a small circular area (diam. 21m N-S approx.) enclosed by an earth and stone bank (Wth 1.7m; ext. H 1m; int. H 0.2m) now destroyed from W through N to E and an outer fosse (Wth 5m). No entrance feature visible.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
