The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on the summit of a hill in rolling pastureland. A roughly circular area (diam. 44m N-S; 32.5m E-W) defined by a gravelly earth and stone bank (Wth 1.3m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 1.6m). On the 1st (1843) and 2nd (1952-53) ed. OS 6-inch map a limekiln is depicted in E sector. A large portion of the E sector has been quarried out to provide stone for this kiln and at NE the bank has been truncated. No trace of a fosse or entrance feature.

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
