The National Monuments Service's description

Located on a fairly steep S-facing slope in hilly terrain overlooking a valley, in pastureland. The present remains consist of a circular area (diam. 28.6m N-S; 26m E-W) defined by an earth and stone bank (Wth 1.2m; int. H 0.34m; ext. H 0.75m) with lush grass growth in the N sector possibly indicating a former fosse (Wth 3m). A break in the bank at SE (Wth 1.2m) may be the original entrance feature. A break at S (Wth 3m) appears to have been widened. The interior slopes to the S. The site has been partially levelled probably during scrub clearance and is in poor condition. A post and wire fence crosses the N half of the site from E to W while a roadway skirts the W sector and has truncated this portion to a limited extent. Some scrub is still growing along the edge of the site in the E sector.

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
