The National Monuments Service's description
Located on a SE-facing slope, just below the summit of a hill in undulating terrain. A circular enclosure (diam. 23m E-W) defined by earthen bank with stone protruding (Wth 2.3m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 0.15m) and traces of an outer bank at W only (Wth 2.6m; ext. H 0.28m) with intervening fosse (Wth 2.2m; D 0.38m). A gap at W (Wth 2m) appears to be the original entrance feature. The site is in fairly bad condition - a lot of material has been dumped here from the construction of a slated shed immediately to the NE and a heap of manure has been deposited in the SE quadrant.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
