The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on a SW-facing slope of rising ground in an upland area with a nearby standing stone (TN038-008) to the SW. A low circular cairn (H 0.6m; diam. 14m) of loosely piled boulders with a large stone (1m x 2m) in the SE sector which may be the capstone of a cist (TN038-007002). The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 22 September 2008
