The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on flat bogland. This poorly preserved site consisted of a brushwood trackway (dims. 6m E-W x 4.8m N-S) which had been badly damaged due to its extensive use over the life of the track (Murray 1999, Derryfadda 210, 46-7). This track has been dated to 515-365 BC (Ó Néill 2000, 187).
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
