The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on the W-facing slope of a low rise of ground in undulating countryside. Fulacht fia discovered during topsoil stripping, no surface trace visible prior to excavation. Site consisted of a truncated horsehoe-shaped mound (L 8m-10m; Wth 7.8m; D 0.11m) of burnt material orientated N-S with a sub-oval trough (L 1.53m; Wth 1.14m; D 0.24m) which had been backfilled with fire-cracked stone and charcoal-rich soil. A fragment of animal tooth was recovered from the trough area. An area of in situ burning or a hearth (L 2.8m x Wth 1.17m) was uncovered 4m S of the mound (Stevens 1998, Killoran 5, 172). Charcoal from the trough was radiocarbon dated to 1750-1410 BC (Stevens 1999, 139).
