The National Monuments Service's description

Situated in Templederry S of present R.C. church. Site mentioned in OS Name Books as 'site of old R.C. chapel' (O'Donovan c.1840, Unpublished). Plaque on stone wall reads: Father John Kenyon's Chapel House. This is the house in which Fr. John Kenyon P.P. lived. He was a leading figure in the Young Ireland movement and a close friend of John Mitchel and John Martin. He died here on 21 March 1869 and is buried in the main aisle of the parish church. The plaque is on the W facing wall, running N-S. The chapel appears to have been a late eighteenth-century structure.
