The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on a slight E-facing slope of rising ground in an upland area. A square-shaped area (dims. 40m N-S) enclosed by an earth and stone bank (Wth 3.3m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 1.1m) and outer fosse (Wth 3.8m; D 0.8m) with a causewayed entrance (Wth 4.5m) at W. Depicted as a diamond-shaped field with stream extending from S angle of site on latest ed. OS 6-inch map. A natural spring well is located 80m to the E. (Stout 1984, 123)
