The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a SW-facing slope of rising ground in an upland area with adjoining rectangular enclosure site (TN028-062001) to the N. A circular area (diam. 60m N-S) enclosed by an earth and stone bank (Wth 1.7m; int. H 2m; ext. H 2m) and external fosse (Wth 4-5m; D 1m) with destroyed causewayed entrance (Wth 3m) at SE. The possible remains of a second external bank (Wth 2m; H 0.5m) are visible at NW only. Top soil from the bank and the interior had been recently removed and a small narrow drain cut through the SE quadrant.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
