The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on a natural rise in gently rolling terrain. The Royal Visitation of 1615 described the building as a 'church and chancell down' (Murphy 1914, 220) and the Civil Survey 1654-6 refers to 'an old Church' in Templederry (Simington 1934, vol. 2, 230). There is no visible trace of the original church (TN027-152001). A Protestant church built in 1828 stands in the centre of a rectangular graveyard. The graveyard wall has been completely rebuilt along the N and E sides and was repointed along the S and W. There are no early headstones or architectural fragments, all are of eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth-century date.
