The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on the N-facing slope of a fairly steep hill in reclaimed pastureland. Marked as a circular enclosure on the 1st ed. (1843) OS 6-inch map and as a circular enclosure extended by a bank/scarp to the E on the 1904 ed. Although levelled, the site is discernible as a slight circular rise (diam. c. 39m E-W) with a concave interior.

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
