The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on the steep NW-facing slope of a hill under pasture. An oval area defined by a broad, relatively high earth and stone bank (Wth 4.4m; int H 1.65m; ext. H 0.9m) and a slight outer fosse (Wth 3.6m; D 0.3m). The interior slopes quite steeply to the NNW. There is a possible entrance downslope at N where there is a gap in the bank although there is still quite a drop to the external ground level.

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
