The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on ground sloping gently to the S in an area now planted with conifers. The site was not accessible at the time of visit. Marked as a small rectangular enclosure on the 1st ed. (1840) OS 6-inch map and as a pit on the 1904 ed. The site may not be an antiquity and thus may not have been respected by forestry plantation. The neighbouring landowner did not know of an enclosure in this area but thought there was a mass-rock in the vicinity.

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
