The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a S-facing slope of rising ground in an upland area with a ringfort (TN020-069) to the S and two other ringforts (TN020-063, TN020-068) to the W and SW respectively. An oval-shaped area (diam. 62m NW-SE) enclosed by low well-preserved earthen bank (Wth 1.5m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 0.8m) with external stone-facing best visible at NE and slight traces of a shallow external fosse also at NE. No entrance feature visible. The site is now used as a large oval field, possibly associated with the ruins of a nearby farmhouse.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
