The National Monuments Service's description
Very thin burnt spread overlay a long (c.2.5m), relatively narrow trough (c.0.8) that
had been partly lined by ramming rocks into the sides. The W end had a step made of
stone flags that probably supported a sheltered hearth. This end of the trough was
screened by a windbreak on the NW side. However, if this step supported a hearth,
this only left c.0.30m of depth in the trough. The E end of the trough was poorly defined and it appears there was a sluice to let the water out into a badly eroded gully. On the NE side of the trough was a very large circular well c.2m across x 1.5m deep that cut the water table. A couple of pits.
