The National Monuments Service's description
Located in a low-lying position, in pasture. A roughly circular, steep-sided, earthen mound (c. 19m E-W; H 3.1m), with some stone protruding, particularly on top at S where a very low, rough stone wall is evident. There has been some slight quarrying S of this feature. The site suffers to some degree from cattle erosion and the base of the mound in the NE quadrant has been slightly truncated. Dumping has taken place along the base at S and in the NE quadrant. Some small trees and nettles are growing on this grass-covered mound, but it is otherwise relatively free of vegetation.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
