The National Monuments Service's description

Situated in flat pastureland in the grounds of Lisduff House. A raised circular area (diam. 32.3m N-S; 31m E-W) enclosed by a low earthen bank (Wth 2.4m; int. H 0.7m; ext. H 1.17m) and a deep, flat-bottomed fosse (Wth 2.5m; D 0.53m) with a causewayed entrance (Wth 3.6m) at NE. There have been recent attempts to build up a causeway in the W sector with small stones and earth. A large number of deciduous trees - beech, horse-chestnut and ash, grow on the bank. The site may have been reused as a tree-ring.

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
