The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a low rise of ground in undulating countryside. Indicated on the 1st (1840) ed. OS 6-inch map as a circular mound with a N-S field boundary along the E edge. On the 1903 ed. only the W side of the site is indicated - a track or laneway has truncated the E side. A field boundary has also been created with extends NE-SW from the NW quadrant of the site. Not visible at ground level.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
