The National Monuments Service's description
In 1836 the 'Ruins of a Nunnery and a burying ground' were recorded in Montiagh (OSNB vol. 1, 34). No visible remains of a 'nunnery' are evident in the only graveyard (SL0042-004001-) in this townland. No such foundation is listed by Gwynn and Hadcock (1970).
