The National Monuments Service's description
In rolling pasture, on top of a drumlin, with ground sloping away sharply to N, S and W. Indicated on the 1914 OS 6-inch map as a mound in the SW corner of a field. Remains consist of a roughly semicircular raised area (12m N-S; 16m E-W) defined by a scarp (H 0.5m) N-SSE and truncated by field boundaries on the SW and NW sides. No remains of the mound are visible at ground level on the S or W sides of the field boundaries. A large flat boulder is embedded in the SE side. A rath (SL039-114----) lies c. 12m to E.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
