The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture, in level wet ground. A slightly raised subrectangular area (int. diam. 28.1m NE-SW; 23.3m NW-SE), with rounded corners, enclosed by two flat-topped earthen banks with an intervening fosse. The inner bank (Wth 2.3m; int. H 0.65m; ext. H 0.8m) has numerous gaps. The intervening fosse (Wth 4.8m), which is wet in places, has a possible leat (Wth c. 1m; D 0.2m) feeding into its W corner. The outer bank (Wth 2.5m; int. H 0.75m; ext. H 0.55m) is evident on the NE, SE, SW and part of NW sides.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
