The National Monuments Service's description

A National Monument (No. 479) in state guardianship. On a bog-grown plateau below the higher slopes of the Ox Mountains and c. 300m S of another court tomb (SL036-002----) and on the same bog-covered plateau. The rear chamber (L 3.3m; max. Wth 2.2m) of a NE-facing court tomb is exposed at about mid-length in a bog-grown mound (L 34.5m; Wth 12m NE end, 7m SW end; H 3m). At the front of the chamber there are two jambs either side of a sill-stone. The sides, each of three orthostats, and backstone of the chamber support well-preserved corbelling which seems to extend beyond the jambs and sill into the concealed front part of the gallery. A largely concealed roofstone covers the back of the chamber. The peat cover above this is 0.6m thick. A slight depression in the mound, c. 5m from its NE end, may indicate the presence of a buried court. (Ó Nualláin 1989, 71-2, no. 113)

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
