The National Monuments Service's description
On the W side of a road and railway line. Indicated on the 1838 OS 6-inch map as an oval mound (c. 40m NE-SW) and named 'Mound'. A gravel and clay ridge in the area of the site is now almost totally quarried away and there are no visible remains of the earthwork.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
