The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, on the S-facing slope of a ridge in the foothills of the Ox Mountains. A raised circular area (41m N-S) defined by a curving hedgerow and road N-SE, by a scarp (H 1.2m) SE-NW and by a flat-topped earthen bank (Wth 2.5m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 0.4m) NW-N. The bank is poached by cattle. There is much rock outcrop in the interior including one upright piece (H 1.1m; Wth 1.7m; T 0.5m) in the W half. There is a circular enclosure (SL031-043001-) and a children's burial ground (SL31-043002-) c. 50m to SSW.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
