The National Monuments Service's description
On a steep S-facing slope of a ridge, in the foothills of the Ox Mountains. A large, mostly levelled, circular enclosure (diam. c. 90m) cut into the hillslope for c. 18m NNW-N, defined N-NE by an earthen bank (Wth 1.5m; H 0.4m) and elsewhere by a levelled bank visible as a cropmark in an aerial photograph (GSIAP, G 258-9). The triangular children's burial ground (SL031-043002-) in the NE quadrant is enclosed N-NE by the extant section of the bank of the enclosure. A rath (SL031-044001-) lies c. 50m to NNE.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
