The National Monuments Service's description
In rough grazing, on the top of a ridge. A raised roughly triangular area (34m E-W) defined on the straight E and S sides by field boundaries and W-NE by an arc of curving scarp (H 1.5m) with a slight internal lip (Wth 2.5m). Possible remnants of internal stone kerbing were noted at N. The remains are probably that of a rath which has been truncated by field boundaries. There is a trigonometrical station in the centre of the interior.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
