The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, on a gentle N-facing slope with good views. A circular area (30.5m N-S; 28.5m E-W) defined NW-NE by a scarp (H 1.6m; Wth 3m), raised to compensate for the natural slope, and ENE-ESE by an earthen bank (Wth 3.2m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 1m); elsewhere the area is defined by a levelled bank visible as a low undulation. There is a break (Wth c. 4m) in the bank at ENE. The interior is generally level but with a slight slope down to N. An E-W field boundary clips the SE edge of the rath. A field boundary, indicated on the 1913 OS 6-inch map to W of the rath, has been removed. Outside the levelled bank W-NW is a shallow dip (4-6m E-W), defined on its outer edge by a slight irregular E-facing scarp (H c. 0.4m), which possibly indicates a fosse.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
