The National Monuments Service's description

In level wet pasture. Indicated as a circular enclosure on the 1838 and 1913 OS 6-inch maps. A square platform (22.6m N-S; 21.5m E-W) defined by a scarp (H 1m at N; H 0.75m at S), with a slight internal lip. The scarp is least substantial on the E side where there are two low slumped gaps (Wth 3m), in the middle and at the S end. An external fosse (Wth c. 2m) is evident on the S side as a shallow waterlogged depression. The interior is generally level. There is a small depression (4m E-W; 3m N-S) in the NW corner and a possible hut site (SL026-095001-) in the NE quadrant.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
