The National Monuments Service's description
Within and occupying much of the interior of a cashel (SL025-089001-). A roughly square area (16.7m N-S; 16.5m E-W) defined on the E, W and S sides by a low linear sod-covered bank or wall footing and on the N side by the curved wall of the cashel. This enclosure is best evident on the W side (Wth 2.5m; int. H 0.35m; ext. H 0.3m) while on the S side it remains only as an inner and outer kerb of stones. One of the two openings to the souterrain (SL025-089002-) is within the enclosure.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
