The National Monuments Service's description
In rough pasture, on the SE-facing side of a low rise. A raised circular area (22.2m N-S; 24m E-W) enclosed by a degraded earthen bank best evident along the N arc (Wth 4.2m; int. H 0.8m; ext. H 2.65m); the perimeter is overgrown with hawthorn bushes. A possible external fosse is evident as a depression (Wth 6m) at N. The interior is level and covered with mature coniferous trees. There is a small stone-built farm shed, indicated on the 1914 OS 6-inch map, immediately to SE.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
