The National Monuments Service's description

In wet pasture, located in soft boggy ground adjacent to a NE-SW stream/drain on the W side of a flat-bottomed valley. One of several fulachtaí fia and burnt mounds which occur over a distance of 1.5km along the base of the valley. A surface spread (8m NE-SW; c. 8m NW-SE) of burnt stone and charcoal is truncated at S by a NE-SW field drain (Wth 1.2m). A layer (L 8m NE-SW; D 1m) of burnt mound material is visible in section in both sides of the drain. On the SE side of the drain, mound material underlies a field wall (Wth c. 1.5m), which flanks the drain and serves as the townland boundary. A drain also borders the SE side of the field wall in Cloonakeemoge townland.
