The National Monuments Service's description
In a level expanse of heather- and sedge-covered cutaway blanket bog. This record refers to a field boundary which was noted in this area in the early 1990’s. It was listed in the RMP (1995) as ‘field wall’ at IG 137180 329010 (equating to ITM 537145 829017)): the source of this record is unknown and there is no field report from the 1990’s on file. The location as depicted on the 1913 OS 6-inch map is largely featureless and it is likely that the co-ordinates recorded in the RMP (1995) were approximate only. The area was inspected in2014. No trace of the field boundary was found at the co-ordinates listed in the RMP (1995). However, c. 70m to SE a loose cluster of seven stones was noted in the N side of an old E–W turf cutting/trench (Wth 2m). The stones are of various sizes (max. dims. 0.2-0.6m), scattered over a length of 2m and occurr at various depths in the section face (H 0.5m). This may be the feature recorded as a field wall in the 1990's. It is possible that it is the disturbed remnant of a wall.
