The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on a slight SW-facing slope, in undulating upland, in a coniferous forestry. The cashel is overlooked by higher ground on the NE side and overlooks a narrow N-S orientated valley to the W. Oval area (60-65m NW−SE; c. 55m NE−SW) enclosed by a bank of rubble limestone (Wth 4.6m; int. H 0.5m). An E-W orientated field wall extends across the S edge of the cashel intersecting with the bank at SE and at SW. A subrectangular area (c. 15m E−W; c. 17m N−S), partitioned off by a rubble wall, is shown in the S half of the interior on the 1937 OS 6-inch map, and was recorded by Milligan (1890-1, 579) in the late 1800’s. Also shown on the 1937 OS 6-inch edition is a circular feature in the N half of the cashel interior, most likely the circular hut site (SL015-059004-) recorded by Milligan (ibid. 579), who also noted a souterrain (SL015-059002-) in the W half and a bullaun stone (SL015-059003-) in the E half of the interior. No traces of any of these internal features were evident when the cashel was inspected in 2003.
