The National Monuments Service's description
Timoney (1984, 324, no. 14) describes this as follows: ‘This oval bowl-barrow, sited on gently sloping ground, measures 17.25m northnorthwest/southsoutheast by 15m and it is 1.40m high. There is no evidence for a bank or fosse and the edges of the base of the barrow have been squared by ploughing. Though this monument lies on flat ground southwest of no. 27 [SL014-209049-] it is not marked on the Ordnance Survey maps nor has it been referred to by any writer prior to 1980. Burenhult (1980:1, 97) lists this as Barrow 1, Carrowmore. See also Kitchin (1983. 168, "unrecorded").’
