The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture, located on the E bank of the Owenykeevan River. A slight, roughly circular grass-covered rise (diam. 5-6m) can be discerned, bordered on its W edge by the stream. Exposed in section in the bank of the stream is a band (L 1m N-S; D 0.1m) of dark, charcoal-rich soil incorporating fragments of burnt stone. It directly underlies a thin layer of sod and overlies peaty soil.
