The National Monuments Service's description
On a rise in an undulating landscape. Circular grass and scrub-covered area (diam. 36.2m ENE-WSW; 34.9m NNW-SSE) defined by an earth and stone bank (Wth 4.7-5.6m; int. H 0.6-0.75m; ext. H 1.5m) with some bushes, which may have had external stone-facing especially at W, and an outer rounded fosse that is most visible ENE-E (Wth of top 4.6m; Wth of base 1.2m; D 0.4m) but which is now largely obscured by field stones. The entrance (Wth 2m) and causeway (Wth 3.7m) are at SE. The monument is circumscribed by drystone walls ENE-S-WSW, and the perimeter is quarried S-SW. Cashel (RO051-055001-) is c. 190m to the SSW.
