The National Monuments Service's description
On the crest of the N-facing slope of an esker. A lintelled and corbelled chamber (dims 4.9m N-S; 1.5m E-W; max. H 1.5m) is entered through the roof at N, with a creep which is now blocked (L at least 2.2m) leading S from the SW corner. The creep may have led to a chamber running E from its S end which is visible as a depression (dims 8m E-W; 5.5m N-S; max. D 1.3m) on the surface. A depression (dims 6m E-W; 1.7-2.5m N-S) running W from the present entrance is unconnected with the souterrain, which was damaged during 2007. The monument was slightly damaged in 2007, after which an exclusion zone was established around it but archaeological testing (14E0188) outside the zone produced no related material (Crumlish 2015). See: excavations.ie 2015:15.
