The National Monuments Service's description
On an undulating landscape. Subrectangular grass-covered but poached area (dims 42.4m NE-SW; 39m NW-SE) defined by flat-topped earthen banks with some bushes (Wth of base 5.6m; Wth of top 1-1.3m; int. H 0.9-1.45m; ext. H 2.3-2.5m) and outer flat-bottomed moats (Wth of top 5-5.6m; Wth of base 1.6-1.7m; D 0.5-1.1m). The entrance (Wth 5m) and causeway (Wth 3.8m) are in the middle of the NE side. A field wall and townland boundary with Gorttaphuill is built on the NW bank, obscuring the bank on this side. Rath (RO047-027----) is c. 200m to the NW, and wayside cross (RO047-026----) is c. 180m to the W.
