At the bottom of a gentle S-facing slope and at the N edge of a broad basin. This is a rectangular area (dims 74m N-S; 58m E-W) defined by slightly battered walls (T 0.6-0.7m; H up to 2.5m). There is a lodge (ext. dims 6.85m E-W; 5m N-S) with a round-headed doorway (Wth 0.9m; H 2.2m) in the centre of the N wall and a round-headed gateway (Wth 1.85m; H 2.4m) at the SE angle. Both the lodge and the gateway may be secondary features. The fortified house (RO045-069001-) is c. 30m to the SE.
