The National Monuments Service's description
Marked as a D-shaped field on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map and as a hachured enclosure on the 1915 ed. It is situated at the edge of a shelf which slopes down gently to the NE. D-shaped grass-covered area (dims 88.5m NW-SE; 69m NE-SW) defined by a grass-covered earth and stone bank (Wth 3.5-4.2m; int. H 0.5-0.6m; ext. H 0.5-1.8m) with the straight side at NE where the bank is reduced to a scarp (H 0.8m). An outer fosse (Wth of top 3.5m; Wth of base 1.6m; D 0.8m) survives only at W (L c. 30m) where there is a sharp angle. There are entrances at NW (Wth 4.5m) and SE (Wth 14m) associated with a trackway, and there are lazy-beds in the interior. There is a tradition of its use as a children's burial ground (RO044-084003-), but no evidence of this. Enclosure (RO044-085----) is c. 120m to the SE.
