At the W edge of a broad low rise. Subcircular grass-covered area (dims 42m E-W; 37m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 3-4.5m; int. H 0.1-0.3m; ext. H 1.3-1.9m) separated by a flat-bottomed fosse (Wth of top 7-8m; Wth of base 2.5-4m; D 0.8-1.1m generally to 1.9m at N) from an outer flat-topped bank (Wth of base 4-7m; Wth of top 1.5-3m; H 0.3-0.8m) and an outer fosse visible as a band of reeds (Wth 2-3.5m). The entrance through the inner (Wth 2.5m) and outer (Wth 10.7m) banks is at SE with a causeway (Wth 5m) through the inner fosse. The outer bank and fosse are absent S-SW, and the inner bank has been quarried SW-W (max. ext. diam. 68m E-W; 64m N-S).
