The National Monuments Service's description

This site is located in the industrial peatlands of Cloonshannagh Bog. It was first recorded in the 2013 Reassessment Peatland Survey as a a roundwood and brushwood togher exposed on the field surface and also visible in section at the nearby drain edge (Whitaker 2014).

The togher was excavated in 2014 under licence 14E0275. It consisted of predominantly brushwood elements, generally orientated N-S, although somewhat haphazard in terms of construction. Most of the elements were poorly preserved. They were species identified as birch, and hazel with one willow roundwood.
The elements were most dense in the west of the cutting near the drain edge. There was one peg which may provide evidence for a connection to the nearby site RO-CLS154. It is possible that the elements identified in the excavation have been discarded from another structure that may have been substantially removed by the drain (Coughlan and Whitaker 2019).
