The National Monuments Service's description

This site was located in the industrial peatlands of Cloonshannagh Bog. It was first recorded in the 2013 Reassessment Peatland Survey as a possible platform site, exposed in section, in an E-facing drain (Whitaker 2014).

The site was excavated in 2014 (licence 14E0274) and dated cal. 1877–1635 BC. The site appeared to represent a roundwood fence-type structure, orientated N-S. It was constructed of four vertical roundwood pegs, which had brushwood and roundwood elements intertwined and woven between them. The wood was species identified to alder, ash and birch. The worked ends were eroded, and composed of small facets. Elements identified in the opposing drain face c. 5m south of the excavated cutting appeared to represent a continuation of the structure (Coughlan and Whitaker 2019).
