The National Monuments Service's description
Marked as an island on the 1837 (diam. c. 5m) and 1914 (diam. c. 15m) eds of the OS 6-inch map, and situated at the N angle of the N triangular part (dims c. 1.5km E-W at S; c.1.25km N-S) of Kilglass Lough close to the 'Carrigeen Cut' connecting the lake with others to the N. This area is now attached to the shore. There is a slight oval rise (dims c. 25m N-S; c. 15m E-W; H c. 0.3m) with no evidence of arteficial construction.
