The easternmost ditch (L c.22.5m; Wth 1m; D 0.22m) had gently sloping sides and a concave base and its single fill consisted of greyish brown silty clay containing occasional flecks of charcoal. A pit located 2.2m to the east of this ditch; oval (L1.55m; Wth 1.05m: D 0.26m) contained a single fill of mid to dark-greyish brown silty clay. A fragment of a rotary quern was recovered from the fill. The thin fragment (T 8cms) was of greyish white sandstone, circular in plan (diams. 0.4m; 0.36m) and concave in profile.
