The National Monuments Service's description
On a rise of the Rathcroghan plateau. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 31.5m N-S; 27.6m E-W) sloping down to the N and defined by a scarp (H 0.3m at S to 1m at N), with a slight bank (Wth 5m; int. H 0.1m; ext H 0.6m) on the perimeter at N. There is a slight mound (diam. c. 6m; max. H 0.4m) at the centre from which modern field walls run W and S. Knox (1914a, 29) describes it as a cashel (No. 2), while Waddell (1983, 29, No. 11) and Herity (1983, 130; 1988, 134, Glenballythomas 10) regard it as a ring-barrow. Barrow (RO022-056017-) is c. 70m to the WNW and barrow (RO022-056019-) is c. 110m to the N. Rath (RO022-056022-) is c. 60m to the SSW.
