The National Monuments Service's description

On a slight rise on the Rathcroghan plateau, c. 170m S of Rathcroghan mound (RO022-057010-). Circular grass-covered platform (diam. 15.5m N-S; 14.4m E-W) defined by a scarp (H 0.3-0.4m) with a cairn (dims 3.6m E-W; 2.1m N-S; H 0.3m) S of the centre, and a hollow (diam. 3m) E of the centre. Knox (1914a, 29) describes this as a cashel (No. 3) while Herity (1983, 130; 1988, 134, Glenballythomas 8) describes a small mound (Glenballythomas 9) immediately to the SSW which is not visible at ground level. Barrow (RO022-056019-) is c. 85m to the NNE and barrow (RO022-056020-) is c. 70m to the ESE. Rath (RO022-056022-) is c. 110m to the S. (Waddell 1983, 29, No. 10)
