The National Monuments Service's description
Marked as a rectangular island (dims. c. 20m x c. 20m) on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and now situated at the N point of a peninsula (dims. c. 200m NW-SE; c. 80m NE-SW) projecting from the S shore of Clooncullaan Lough North (dims. c. 600m E-W; c. 150m N-S at W to c. 300m N-S at E). Circular grass-covered stoney area (diam. 10m) rising over the peninsula (H 0.2m). Possible crannog (RO022-055002-) is c. 30m to the W, and possible crannog (RO022-055004-) is c. 120m to the S. Animal bones were found on the E shore of the peninsula (RO022-055001-) c. 160m to the SE.
